Distance – 7 Kilometres / 4 Miles – Approx Time 30 mins – 1.5 hours
Terrain – the whole route is on tarmac quiet country lanes – extra care should be taken with young children and the traffic.
From Hawkshead follow the road south towards Newby Bridge. Eventually you enter woods with access to the lakeshore on your left – maybe a picnic spot.
Turn left at the road junction and follow into the village of Near Sawrey. Refreshment and a visit to Hill Top available.
At Near Sawrey turn left and follow the road on the opposite side of Esthwaite Water back to Hawkshead.
